Earth Week

Recycling

Carbide Tool Services, Inc. strides to be as green as possible.  There are many different things that we do as a company that help the environment.  Here are some simple things that we do to stay green.

When we ship our new, and repaired cutting tools, we reuse all the packing material that comes into our plant for packing our shipping totes and boxes.  Also, when a customer scrap tosses a cutting tool we put the tool into a scrap bin to be recycled in a Minneapolis recycling center.    All burrs, drills, end mills and any other item used in our facility that is used for manufacturing is reground in house and put back into our tool crib for reuse.  Our office also helps out by getting our existing toner cartridges refilled with toner instead of purchasing new.

As a major cutting tool manufacturer, we hope that everyone can help out our environment big or small.   We will continue to come up with new ways to recycle our products throughout our facility.

Strong Weld Equals Strong Repair

The Advantage of CTS

There are many factors that are required to make the repair of a damaged indexable tool successful.  Proper machining, tapping, grinding and inspection procedures are important but nothing is more important then the strength of the weld.  Not only is the strength of the material important but understanding how it bonds with the original material without jeopardizing the integrity.  Many indexable tool repair companies over look this important feature.  We often see repairs that are done with inexpensive, soft welding material.  Although this is much easier to machine, it is often not strong enough to hold the insert in place during the cut.

Carbide Tool Services uses proprietary welding material to insure that the tools are repaired with the strongest material possible without sacrificing the tool integrity.  We never cut corners on the material to make the machining easier.  Please contact us today to find out how we can better service your indexable tool repair needs.
