I am now part of the dynamic Carbide Tool Services team. As a past distributor for Carbide Tool Services for over 25 years, I was always able to share cost savings with my customers for indexable tool repair and reconditioning. It was common for me to gravitate towards 'lines' or services that would make me look good in the eyes of the end user. Carbide Tool Services was on a short list of companies that I would choose as typically it was a friction free experience. I was able to accomplish cost savings objectives and fulfill obligations to my customers for a value added service.

The synergy from that relationship has blossomed into me being a part of the CTS team - to help carry the message of a value added service from a company that is really entrenched in our ISO 9001:2000 Quality Objectives:

c) 100% customer satisfaction

With the above Objectives being strived for, it makes my job as National Sales Manager very rewarding as I focus on trying to help distributors and end users meet the continous demands of our current economy. I am very pleased to be part of an organization that, if given the opportunity, can make a positive impact on a customers ledger.

A customer of ours had new indexable drills manufactured.  The design they had was a 4 end pocketed drill with a chamfer insert.  The indexable drill did the job but the customer wanted to see if we could cut down on cycle time.  When working with the engineers at the customer’s facility, along side our engineering staff, we came up with a great solution.  What we came up with was to eliminate two of the end pockets and change them into a bigger I.C. insert.  We used the same insert as the chamfer pocket and made the drill into a 3 pocketed core and chamfer drill.  This cut cycle time in half.  Another benefit was eliminating pockets - from 5 to 3.  Now the tool uses the same inserts and screw in each pocket.  If you want a success story like this contact one of  our qualified staff members.

Carbide Tool Services, Inc. has updated its tracking system for tracking all jobs in our facility.  Our goal with our new system will be to help our customer service department give more accurate delivery dates without going out onto the shop floor.  When looking in our computer system we will be able to track the following services: cutting tool repair, rotating tool repair, live tooling repair, and refurbishing carbide tipped, carbide or hss tooling.  Other services include manufacturing of new indexable special tools, carbide tipped tooling, carbide and high speed steel tooling.
